Just For Fun: This "campaign" started in February 2005. It does not take place in Avamor. Basically, I'm getting together a group of people to create characters, go on bi-weekly adventures, and have fun. Each adventure is meant to be self-contained. It isn't a campaign in the true sense of the word - more a series of linked adventures without any overarching plotlines.
The basic goals are to give everyone a chance to learn the 3.5 rules, get familiar with each other, and become familiar with the DM's style of play. There will be some new players (new to gaming, new to the 3.5 ruleset, and new to the DM), so I expect everyone to help the new folks out.
Characters started off at 7th level (high enough to make non-lethal learning mistakes and have a few cool abilities without being overwhelmed by all the options, low enough so that there will be plenty of challenges). All charcters will be made from the 3.5 Core Rules. Players have the option of creating their own character, or choosing from some pre-generated characters.
As with previous games, it's by invitation only.
Below are the PCs for this campaign. These descriptions will grow as we play.
Gixx: A half-dragon Dwarven monk from the mountains west of Cathis. Gixx apparently has all the Dwarven love for fighting, food, drink, and especially gold... with a Dragon's avarice added on top. Gixx also likes collecting things - he's currently trying to replace his tavern mug collection, part of which was destroyed during an attack on an orc tribe. Gixx is the melee-specialist of the group. Played by John.
Shara: A cleric of Pelor, Shara was sent out to find her place in Pelor's world. She has something of a temper and tends towards a level of violence one doesn't usually find in a healer. The tower shield she carries around should be sufficient warning. Since most people prefer talking to Shara, as opposed to Gixx or Taper, she tends to be the negotiator in civilized areas. Played by Bertha.
Taper: A ranger and archer of considerable skill, Taper is the scout and guide. He is more at home in the wilderness than in any city or town. Taper's boon companion is a rough-looking dog of indeterminate breed named Dingo. Dingo seems to adapt to civilized areas rather well (Dingo sleeps on the bed while Taper usually takes the floor when indoors). Taper has a special place in his heart for orcs: He likes them bashed, broken, broiled, or simply dead.
