General Rumor Information
The Rumors List serves several purposes. First, it provides additional background information about what is going on in the world. It also provides optional adventures for your characters to participate in. It even allows your character to start spreading rumors of his own. And finally, it gives NPCs and PCs the ability to take advantage of events.
The rumors are just that - rumors. A few are completely true; a few are completely false. Most fall somewhere between. Don't make the mistake of thinking that all these events (or even most of them) are linked. They might be linked. They might not. You can have your character use (or hire an NPC) various spells such as Legend Lore, Contact Other Plane, and the like to find out more. Or your character can use his own contacts and informants to gather more knowledge. The Rumors List is a tool for you and your character.
