This is the players' version of the timeline. Not everything here is accurate. The DM's version (mine) has a lot more detail. As of August 2004, this timeline has seen about 17 years of real-time history and covers roughly 7,000 years of campaign history. That's a lot of history! You can actually track the lineage of some families through this timeline. There are also a number of cities that have survived multiple thousands of years.
I use a fair amount of shorthand in the timeline, so here's a brief glossary:
Since the timeline covers multiple thousands of years, I've provided several indices for quick reference. Clicking on the links below will take you to the beginning of the described era, age, or event.
An era covers 1000 years. Currently, there are 6 eras in the History, ranging from the times before the Cataclysm to present.
Era | Description |
Anything that happened before or during the actual Cataclysm. Information from this era is sketchy and fragmented, at best. A lot was destroyed. More detailed and (possibly) accurate information may exist in the Great Library of Anryth, or on Greyslope Isle.
First era after the Cataclysm, years 0 - 1000. Details of this era are better recorded than for the Pre-Cataclysm. However, most civilizations were just beginning to re-establish themselves. Avamor was in a lot of turmoil during this era.
Second era after the Cataclysm, years 1001 - 2000
Third era after the Cataclysm, years 2001 - 3000
Fourth era after the Cataclysm, years 3001 - 4000
Fifth era after the Cataclysm, years 4001 - 5000 |
Ages are marked by great events or prevalence of peace, war, advancement or decline of civilization..
